We are looking for a candidate who meets the following qualifications:
- A Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Strong experience in IT security governance, compliance, and infrastructure management.
- Extensive experience in service management, IT operations, or related roles.
- Expertise in OpenShift/Kubernetes security, identity management, and encryption standards.
- Familiarity with regulatory frameworks such as PCI DSS, GDPR, and ISO 27001.
- Preferred certifications include CISSP, CISM, or equivalent.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities
In the role of IT Security Officer (ITSO), you will:
- Enforce security standards, review designs, and validate encryption and identity management.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate security risks throughout migration activities.
- Take ownership of critical services, defining a strategic vision for improvement and reliability.
- Collaborate with architects and engineers to design secure services and oversee their deployments.
- Coordinate incident response, conduct root cause analysis, and execute corrective actions.
- Ensure compliance through effective patching, evergreening, backups, and management of on-prem and cloud systems.
- Work with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and business managers to forecast demand, justify costs, and optimize performance.
- Engage with OpenShift, Automation, and Infrastructure teams to embed security and operational best practices.
- Coordinate with vendors and internal teams to ensure seamless service delivery and compliance.
- Continuously identify opportunities for cost optimization, process enhancements, and innovation.

Description
This contract position is based in Sheffield, requiring three days per week in the office, with a competitive rate of up to £500 per day (inside IR35) and a start date of 05/01/2026.
