Requirements
Must:
- Commercial mobile development experience in iOS and Swift
- Proven experience with Swift Package Manager (SPM)
- Knowledge of CocoaPods, particularly in migrating to SPM
- Comfortable with test-driven development (TDD)
- Prior experience in writing and distributing libraries (desired)
- Understanding of Hexagonal (Ports and Adapters) architecture (desired)
- Experience developing media players for mobile platforms (desired)
- Strong pair programming and teamwork attitude (desired)
- Professional experience with Agile Scrum development processes
- Enjoy collaboration with other engineers
- Strong willingness to learn and be a keen team player
- Experience writing and taking responsibility for technical documentation
- Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field or similar work experience
- Proven experience as a Senior Software Engineer focusing on media-related projects
- Very good knowledge of standard software development frameworks, techniques, and methodologies
- Ability to coach and mentor others
- Flexible and curious approach
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Responsibilities
- Work closely with engineering leadership and junior colleagues on best practices and modern development workflows
- Migrate codebase from CocoaPods to Swift Package Manager (SPM)
- Modernize internal Swift libraries
- Re-architect for future shared components strategy
- Integrate functionality built by other teams
- Collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team
- Articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
- Participate in pair programming and ensure code quality through TDD
- Write and maintain technical documentation
Description
We are looking for an experienced Senior Software Engineer to join our team and work with our media client on developing their mobile media player component. This role is hybrid, requiring 1-2 days a week in our Salford office. We value a collaborative environment and promote pair programming while following test-driven development patterns. The contract duration is until the end of March 2026, with the possibility of extension. You will have the chance to meet with our client during the application process to learn more about the role.
