Requirements
Must:
We are seeking a Mid Level Developer with the following skills and experiences:
- Proficiency in TypeScript and Node.js
- Experience with REST APIs (using frameworks such as Express, Nest.js, or similar)
- Strong unit testing skills (using Jest or an equivalent tool)
- Experience in cloud computing, preferably Google Cloud Platform (GCP); AWS or Azure experience is also valuable
- Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (using Terraform or similar)
- Familiarity with Docker and Docker Compose
- Experience with Continuous Integration tools and environments
- Proven ability to work in a Continuous Delivery / Deployment setup
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
Responsibilities
As a Mid Level Developer, your primary responsibilities will include:
- Writing clean, well-documented, and tested code across backend and full-stack systems
- Designing and building RESTful APIs and microservices to support multi-carrier integrations
- Supporting the deployment, monitoring, and maintenance of cloud-hosted applications
- Collaborating in an Agile, cross-functional team to deliver high-quality software
- Continuously learning and adopting new tools and practices to foster growth and innovation within the team
- Contributing to DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure automation
Description
You will be an integral part of a greenfield project focused on building next-generation solutions for the eCommerce and logistics sector. While the role is primarily backend-focused, we offer flexibility for those interested in gaining frontend exposure to broaden their technical skillset. You will work closely with product owners, fellow developers, and our CTO, contributing to design discussions, architecture planning, and the implementation of robust, production-ready code. This is a permanent, full-time position based in Southampton, working in a hybrid model (3 days per week in the office) with a salary of £53,000 and additional benefits.
