Requirements

Must:
- Proven experience in mid-senior level infrastructure engineering roles within Microsoft environments. - Strong working knowledge and practical experience with: - Microsoft Azure (IaaS, PaaS, networking, governance, monitoring) - Microsoft 365 (Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, Intune, Entra ID) - Microsoft Defender suite (Defender for Endpoint, Cloud Apps, Identity, Office 365, etc.) - Entra ID identity and access management - Azure networking (VNets, private endpoints, firewalls, routing) - Strong documentation skills (runbooks, design documents, diagrams). - Ability to work independently, manage workloads, and communicate clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders. - Experience with network separation, SD-WAN, firewalls, and routing changes (desirable). - Experience delivering infrastructure changes within large programmes, ideally involving tenant separation, infrastructure split or merger/acquisition scenarios (desirable). - Familiarity with governance frameworks, ITIL practices, and change management (desirable). - Experience in hybrid environments (on-prem / Azure / SaaS) (desirable).

Responsibilities

- Deliver hands-on technical work for the organisational split, focusing on Azure resource separation and migration. - Manage Microsoft 365 tenant-related activities, including identity, security, licensing, and configuration. - Conduct security posture assessments and implement solutions across Defender, Entra ID, Azure, and M365. - Develop and manage end-user device policies and management. - Collaborate closely with the IT Systems Manager on day-to-day priorities, plans, and technical deliverables. - Produce clear documentation, diagrams, and technical records in line with project governance. - Engage with parent company teams to ensure alignment, clarity, and accurate understanding of required changes. - Assist with network split activities, including firewall, routing, segmentation, SD-WAN, and connectivity workstreams. - Support application split activities, including infrastructure readiness, identity changes, access reviews, and supporting migration tasks. - Respond to infrastructure-related inquiries, fact-finding exercises, and documentation requests. - Complete hands-on technical tasks relating to operational infrastructure as required (Azure, M365, security tooling, networking, servers, and endpoints).

We are seeking an experienced Infrastructure Engineer to join our team in Southampton, primarily supporting a major organisational split project. This role involves working closely with both our internal teams and third-party partners to facilitate the migration process for two new tenants. We value strong hands-on expertise across the Microsoft ecosystem, including Azure, Microsoft 365, and security tools. Our team is dedicated to delivering technical excellence, effective documentation, and stakeholder engagement. The position requires the candidate to be onsite 3-4 days a week, and we offer a competitive rate based on experience.
