Requirements
Must:
We are looking for candidates with the following skills:
- Proficiency in TypeScript and Node.js.
- Experience in designing and building REST APIs using frameworks such as Express or Nest.js.
- Knowledge of unit testing with Jest or an equivalent framework.
- Familiarity with cloud computing, preferably Google Cloud Platform (GCP); experience with AWS or Azure is also valuable.
- Understanding of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform or similar.
- Practical experience with Docker and Docker Compose.
- Experience with continuous integration tools and environments.
- A background in a Continuous Delivery/Deployment setup.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Responsibilities
As a Mid Level Developer on our team, you will:
- Write clean, well-documented, and tested code for backend and full-stack systems.
- Design and build RESTful APIs and microservices to facilitate multi-carrier integrations.
- Support the deployment, monitoring, and maintenance of cloud-hosted applications.
- Collaborate within an Agile, cross-functional team to deliver high-quality software.
- Continuously learn and adopt new tools and practices, as we encourage growth and innovation.
- Contribute to our DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure automation.
Description
You will have the opportunity to work on a greenfield project tailored for the eCommerce and logistics sector, utilizing modern cloud technologies. This role is primarily backend-focused, but we offer flexibility for those interested in expanding into frontend technologies. Based in Southampton, we promote a hybrid work model, requiring you to be in the office three days per week. The role is permanent and full-time, with a salary of £53,000 plus benefits. In this position, you will work closely with product owners, fellow developers, and the CTO, engaging in design discussions, architecture planning, and the implementation of robust, production-ready code. We also value candidates with additional desirable skills such as experience with C#, familiarity with React or Next.js, an understanding of feature flagging and progressive delivery techniques, exposure to Kubernetes or serverless environments, and awareness of GitOps principles.
