Requirements
Must:
- Relevant degree or professional/vocational qualification in computer science, data engineering, data science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
- Proven experience working in a data engineering role using Microsoft Fabric tools
- Strong understanding of database management, data governance, data security, and data quality assurance
- Hands-on experience in developing data warehouses and integrating new use cases
- Proficiency in Azure SQL and Microsoft Fabric tools, using Python and SQL
- Experience in developing data models, including schema inference and data modelling diagramming tools
- Strong skills in data integration, problem-solving, analytical thinking, and clear communication
Responsibilities
- Lead in the design, build and maintenance of scalable data architecture, including data lakes and data warehouses
- Integrate data from business systems and other sources to our data warehouse using Microsoft Fabric, Azure SQL tools, and Data Factory pipelines
- Develop a robust data warehouse supporting an enterprise data model, managing slowly changing dimensions and leveraging change data capture
- Extract or infer dataset schemas and convert datasets to alternative data standards
- Translate business needs into longer-term development of data engineering support
- Provide advice and support for developing the One Teams data maturity and governance developments
