Must:
- Experience deploying applications to thousands of machines globally
- Designed or rebuilt large-scale software distribution/deployment systems
- Strong automation and CI/CD experience
- Experience with Windows-hosted production applications
- Delivered controlled rollouts in operationally sensitive environments
- Experience working across multiple cloud tenants or regions
- Comfortable making architectural decisions and standing behind them
Responsibilities
- Design and own an application-first deployment model
- Package and distribute Windows-hosted applications (Windows 10/11/Server)
- Implement version control by site, tenant, and location
- Execute controlled rollouts (staged releases, canary deployments, validation gates)
- Ensure zero/near-zero downtime deployments
- Facilitate fast and reliable rollbacks
- Maintain visibility of what version is running where
- Monitor application health
- Operate across multiple Azure tenants, with flexibility to recommend AWS or hybrid solutions
- Design configuration, identity, and policy at scale (currently AD/Group Policy, open to redesign)
- Support distributed, occasionally disconnected environments
- Handle end-to-end design and build of the deployment platform
