Must:
To be considered for the Front End Developer role, you will need:
- Experience as a Front End Developer.
- Proficiency in writing clean, well-structured code in HTML, JavaScript, and CSS.
- Experience developing within a content management system (CMS) such as Craft, Joomla, WordPress, etc.
- Ability to test websites and digital products for accessibility and functionality, along with identifying and fixing bugs.
- A broad understanding of web development programming languages.
- A degree or relevant experience in multimedia, computer science, web development, etc.
Responsibilities
As a Front End Developer, you will be responsible for developing and enhancing our web estate. Specifically, you will:
- Create user-centred digital products and tools that support national programmes.
- Design, build, and iterate websites and services using a user-led, data-informed approach.
- Collaborate with the Communications, Marketing, and Digital teams to develop high-quality code and integrate digital assets.
- Ensure that products are responsive, performant, and aligned with our organisational identity and standards.
- Test, review, and resolve issues across all digital products.
- Develop integrations with social media platforms to reach core audiences.
- Provide expert guidance to colleagues.

We are Social Care Wales, providing leadership and expertise in social care and early years in Wales. To achieve this, we lead on the development and regulation of the social care workforce and conduct service improvement, data, and research to enhance care. We are currently offering a fixed-term contract until 31st October 2026 for the Front End Developer position, with the possibility of extension. This role offers flexible working options, and we welcome candidates interested in a job share arrangement. Candidates must be based in the UK and able to visit one of our offices as required.
