Requirements
Must:
- Degree in Computer Science, Electronics, Telecommunications, or a similar discipline
- Eligibility to meet UK security clearance requirements
- ISTQB certification is advantageous
- Strong communication skills combined with a solid technical foundation
- Around 5+ years experience in both manual and automated testing, ideally within embedded, telecoms, or other complex systems
- Experience testing integrated software and hardware solutions
- Exposure to communication technologies such as LTE or TETRA would be beneficial
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Experience working within Agile delivery environments
- Awareness of protocol and RF testing, along with communication interfaces such as TCP/IP, UDP, Serial, or Bluetooth
- Familiarity with test management tools (e.g., JIRA, TestRail, Jama)
- Practical experience with automation and testing tools such as Selenium, JUnit, TestNG, Cypress, Postman, or JMeter
- Understanding of API and backend testing approaches
Responsibilities
- Creating and running test suites across functional, regression, system, and performance areas to ensure products meet required standards
- Validating software and applications against defined requirements, identifying and documenting defects
- Analysing requirements provided by internal product teams and external stakeholders
- Supporting all stages of the testing lifecycle, including planning, execution, defect management, and reporting
- Maintaining clear and accurate documentation to track quality and test coverage
- Building and executing both manual and automated test cases across communication-based systems
- Working alongside software, hardware, and systems engineers to troubleshoot issues and support resolution
- Ensuring test environments, tools, and hardware setups are maintained and fit for purpose
- Contributing to design and requirement discussions, ensuring testability is considered early
- Providing guidance and support to less experienced team members
- Occasional travel may be required, with costs reimbursed
