Requirements
Must:
- Proficiency in Python and Pyspark
- Experience with AWS Glue jobs and Step functions
- Familiarity with Pydeequ for data quality testing
- Knowledge of Circle CI for deployment
- Experience with Amazon Athena for querying data
- Understanding of AWS services such as S3, Glue, Step functions, EMR, and Athena
- Experience in Infrastructure as Code using Terraform
- Familiarity with version control systems like Git and GitHub
Responsibilities
As a Data Engineer within our Workforce Intelligence team, I will work collaboratively with my colleagues at Skills for Care and across the Adult Social Care sector as part of an Agile data engineering team. My main focus will be on developing and maintaining data pipelines to estimate the size and composition of the Adult Social Care Workforce. I will engage in bespoke data engineering tasks designed to meet user needs and contribute to the early stages of our data engineering pipeline that ingests, cleans, and models data for our analysts’ use. I will collaborate closely with the product owner, data modellers, and analysts to ensure the pipeline meets both departmental and internal requirements. Additionally, I will work with external data engineers and data scientists to expedite our development efforts.
