Requirements
Must:
We are looking for candidates with a strong background in Python, particularly in data manipulation using tools like Pandas or Polars, and statistical modeling. You should have industry experience in a data science role, focusing on sports analytics or relevant personal projects related to football data. A solid understanding of advanced football metrics, particularly possession value models, is highly desirable. We value a deep passion for football paired with analytical rigor, and strong communication skills for engaging with clubs and stakeholders.
Responsibilities
In this role, youll apply advanced data science techniques to analyze football data and uncover valuable insights related to performance and tactics. Youll be responsible for building models and frameworks to profile teams and players, identifying their styles of play, strengths, and weaknesses. Additionally, youll develop new metrics to evaluate players, such as efficiency in ball retention, progressive passing, and duel outcomes under pressure. Effective communication of your findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders—including coaches, scouts, analysts, and traders—is essential.
