Requirements
Must:
- Mid-to-senior level engineer with MSP experience
- Comfortable owning your workload and leading initiatives
- Strong problem-solving and analytical mindset
- Confident communicating with technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Experience with N-Central RMM (must have)
- Familiarity with Halo PSA
- Proficiency in PowerShell
- Experience with API integrations / RESTful interfaces
- Knowledge of Microsoft 365 & Azure
- Exposure to NOC & SOC tooling
- Ansible experience (desirable)
- Power BI / data warehousing exposure (desirable)
Responsibilities
- Own the discovery, design, build, and ongoing management of automation solutions
- Develop, optimise, and maintain N-Central RMM policies, scripts, monitoring templates, and workflows
- Build automation and integrations across Halo PSA, Microsoft 365, Azure, and SOC tooling
- Create and maintain PowerShell scripts to reduce manual workload across technical teams
- Improve monitoring thresholds, alerting standards, and automated responses across RMM and SOC environments
- Support SOC alert optimisation, including automated enrichment and routing
- Build and maintain strong documentation and automation standards
- Create a centralised automation library to ensure repeatability and scalability
- Collaborate with internal teams to proactively identify automation opportunities

We are a well-established and forward-thinking Managed Service Provider (MSP) located in Preston, UK, offering a hybrid work model with 23 days onsite. We are heavily investing in automation and operational efficiency and are looking for an Automation Engineer to join our team. In this newly created role, you will drive smarter and scalable ways of working, taking ownership of automation across the business and making a real impact on service delivery and business performance.
