Requirements
Must:
- Hands-on experience administering Oracle Solaris in enterprise environments
- Strong expertise with LDOMs (Logical Domains) and UNIX virtualisation
- Experience working with Oracle T-series hardware (T5, T7, T8)
- Proven background in UNIX migrations, upgrades and system support
- Solid understanding of UNIX networking, storage and security
- Experience designing or supporting high-availability or resilience clusters (desirable)
- Exposure to disaster recovery and failover solutions (desirable)
- Background working in large, regulated or mission-critical environments (desirable)
Responsibilities
- Support and enhance an enterprise UNIX estate built on Oracle Solaris and T-series hardware
- Manage day-to-day operations of Solaris systems
- Work with virtualised environments to ensure optimal performance
- Contribute to critical migration and upgrade projects
- Design and support clustered solutions focusing on availability and resilience
- Collaborate closely with infrastructure and application teams
- Take ownership of performance, stability, and compliance
- Resolve complex UNIX issues across production environments
Description
We are seeking an experienced UNIX Engineer for a fully on-site position in Barrow-In-Furness, offering a contract at £552/day inside IR-35 with an initial duration of 3 months and the possibility for extension.
