Requirements
Must:
- Strong hands-on experience with network infrastructure and security
- Experience with segmentation, firewalls, endpoint security, XDR, and access control
- Experience securing Cloud (Azure and/or AWS) and on-premise environments
- Knowledge of frameworks such as NIST, ISO 27001, CIS, GDPR preferred
- A proactive, accountable approach with a focus on owning outcomes
- Confidence in working with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Responsibilities
- Lead the security of complex enterprise networks across cloud and on-prem environments
- Configure and optimize security tooling such as segmentation platforms, Sophos, Mimecast, XDR solutions, and vulnerability scanners
- Manage firewalls, VPNs, secure remote access, and segmentation controls
- Improve detection and response workflows alongside SIEM/SOC teams
- Ensure critical logging, monitoring, and compliance standards are met
- Automate deployments and controls using PowerShell, Python, Terraform or similar tools
- Support vulnerability assessments and drive remediation across the estate
- Contribute to secure design reviews for applications, infrastructure, and cloud services
- (Incident response experience is desirable but not essential)

We are seeking a Senior Network Security Engineer to join our growing security team in Central Bristol, offering various hybrid working arrangements. With a competitive salary between £65,000 to £75,000 plus bonuses, we provide 25 days of holiday and a good contributory pension.
