Requirements
Must:
- Active SC clearance is mandatory; candidates eligible for DV clearance will be prioritized for longer-term roles.
- Advanced Node.js proficiency with experience in event-driven architecture and async programming.
- Strong knowledge of TypeScript for enterprise-grade API development.
- Familiarity with Express.js or NestJS for RESTful and modular service design.
- Experience in security-first development practices, including OAuth2, JWT, TLS, and secure logging.
- Proficient in containerization technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, or OpenShift.
- Experience with CI/CD tools like GitLab CI, Jenkins, or Azure DevOps pipelines.
- Knowledge of messaging/integration technologies such as REST APIs, Kafka, RabbitMQ, or Service Bus.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain Node.js microservices within the LDDF architecture.
- Implement secure RESTful APIs for data exchange across various domains.
- Ensure all services comply with MOD security, logging, and auditing standards.
- Collaborate with DevOps engineers to containerize and deploy services via Kubernetes/OpenShift.
- Integrate with messaging systems for efficient data communication.
- Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and automated testing frameworks.
- Work collaboratively with architects, testers, and cyber security teams to ensure compliance and resilience.

We are seeking an experienced NodeJS Engineer to join a high-security Defence programme focused on a critical data integration platform. This platform enables secure information sharing across Defence systems and domains. You will be a vital part of a multi-disciplinary agile team responsible for developing, securing, and maintaining microservices that support the MOD's next-generation data fabric.
