Requirements
Must:
- Experience in cloud or data platform technologies (e.g., Azure, Fabric, Databricks)
- Ability to operate and manage modern cloud-based data platforms
- Experience integrating third-party data feeds
- Exposure to DevOps or platform engineering
- Strong SQL skills for transformation, modelling, and optimisation
- Proficiency in at least one data engineering programming language (e.g., Python)
- Knowledge of data modelling (dimensional, star schema, analytics-optimised models)
- Experience building and maintaining production-grade ETL/ELT pipelines
- Familiarity with orchestration and scheduling tools
- Proficient in version control (e.g., Git)
- Understanding of CI/CD principles for data workloads
- Knowledge of environment separation (Dev/Test/Prod)
- Ability to write maintainable, testable, and well-documented code
- Understanding of GDPR and data protection principles, including privacy-by-design, retention, anonymisation, and pseudonymisation
Responsibilities
- Design, develop and maintain secure, high-quality data pipelines
- Enable trusted reporting, analytics, and future AI/ML development
- Build reusable data pipelines, semantic models, and certified datasets
- Influence architecture, engineering standards, automation, and governance
- Work across structured and semi-structured data from key internal systems
- Support operational teams, strategic planning, and improved outcomes
Description
We are a not-for-profit organization focused on family services, located in Bristol/South Gloucestershire. We offer free parking and a competitive salary range of £45,000 - £48,000 for this permanent role. We promote a hybrid working model, with 3 days on site.
