Requirements
Must:
- 10 years of SQL Server (2016) architecture and operations experience.
- Experience with Always On AG, FCI, replication, and log shipping.
- Large-scale SharePoint database experience.
- Performance tuning skills (I/O, indexing, concurrency, wait stats).
- Strong knowledge of Always On networking and DNS failover.
- Excellent documentation and stakeholder management skills.
- Desirable experience with Azure SQL HA/DR.
- Hands-on experience with AWS SQL deployments.
- Familiarity with automation tools (CloudFormation, Terraform, PowerShell DSC).
- Experience in a regulated environment.
Responsibilities
- Architect SQL Server HA/DR solutions in AWS.
- Design Always On patterns including listener, quorum, and witness.
- Evaluate AWS services such as EC2, EBS, FSx, Route 53, CloudWatch, and Backup.
- Ensure network, IAM, and security alignment.
- Produce necessary documentation and operational runbooks.
- Define Point of View (PoV) success criteria with the Infra Architect.
- Build PoV topology: SQL Server Always On AGs on EC2 (multi-AZ), EBS, and FSx as required.
- Integrate CloudWatch, AWS Backup, Systems Manager, and automation tools.
- Validate SharePoint database compatibility.
- Produce resilience pattern catalogue including TCO, performance, and complexity analysis.
