Requirements
Must:
- Strong server engineering experience (Windows Server + Linux)
- Solid virtualisation expertise (VMware / Hyper-V)
- Knowledge of storage, backup & restore processes
- Experience in patch management & system security
- Understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP)
- Proven ability to debug complex infrastructure issues end-to-end
- Experience working in high-availability / mission-critical environments
- Confident in delivering 3rd line support and owning incidents
- Familiarity with enterprise server hardware (maintenance, upgrades, replacements)
- Understanding of Azure / Microsoft ecosystem
- Working knowledge of ITIL practices and service management
- Experience in regulated environments (e.g. healthcare or similar)
- Relevant certifications (Microsoft, VMware, CompTIA or equivalent experience)
Responsibilities
- Own server infrastructure (Windows/Linux) across a multi-site environment
- Deliver 2nd/3rd line support for complex incidents and escalation
- Manage virtualisation platforms (VMware / Hyper-V)
- Maintain backup, disaster recovery & business continuity strategies
- Ensure system security, patching & compliance across all servers
- Build and optimise file, print & storage services
- Support project rollouts, migrations & infrastructure upgrades
- Troubleshoot deeply - from OS to hardware to network layers
