We are looking for a candidate with at least 8 years of project delivery experience, specifically in leading Release and Implementation planning in the financial services sector. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of identity management, including access provisioning, role-based access control, and joiner/mover/leaver (JML) activities. Familiarity with ServiceNow integrations, access control models, and policies is essential. Experience in onboarding applications in an IAM tool is also required.
Our candidate should have a proven track record managing multiple projects simultaneously, with sizes ranging from 300 to 3,000 man-days, within a structured programme delivery organization. Strong leadership skills are necessary, along with the ability to adapt communication styles according to various project stakeholders. Experience managing projects using industry-standard Waterfall and Agile methodologies is essential.
The candidate should demonstrate expertise in developing release strategies across transversal projects and epics, encompassing planning, estimating, change control, risk and issue management, and resource management. Previous experience in managing outsourced projects is a plus. Strong negotiation and conflict management skills, along with the ability to influence management at various levels, are crucial. Proficiency in English with excellent communication skills—listening, writing, and presenting—is required. Familiarity with technical domains and experience delivering solutions across various systems architecture, including Windows, Linux, and Mainframe, is desired. Flexibility to adapt and continuously improve delivery approaches is essential.
Responsibilities
As the Release Manager, I will engage with business and IT stakeholders to develop a release-based view of LAM implementations and benefits delivery. I will secure sponsor approval for the overall release plan and each release scope, conducting change impact assessments when necessary. My responsibilities will include developing integrated release plans, identifying deliverable dependencies across epics, and resolving any gaps or discrepancies.
I will manage release decisions, risks, issues, and changes throughout the Epic, Cluster, and Programme governance processes, while supporting the Cluster Test Lead in defining the solution build and test approach. Collaborating closely with the Cluster Solution Architect and EDOs will be part of my role, as will supporting the development of the Cluster Test and Release (implementations) Strategy.
Additionally, I will coordinate with GTS Change & Release Management to agree on the Cluster implementation schedule and resolve conflicts with other critical implementations. I will assist the Cluster Change Lead in developing the Release Change Impact Assessment and resulting organization readiness plans and activities, ensuring the creation of clear and concise documentation that outlines release options and agreements on the release plan.
Description
This role is part of a programme that aims to deliver critical improvements to IDAM services, organized through approximately 15 epics grouped into clusters that cover Logical Access Management, Privileged Access Management, Migration, and Data. The Release Manager will be responsible for identifying and managing the series of implementations and interim states needed to achieve planned outcomes while driving alignment across all contributing epics and impacted tribes/squads. The position offers a competitive daily rate between 600 to 800 euros and is expected to last for 12 months with hybrid working arrangements requiring 8 days onsite per month. Please note that UK contractors must operate through an umbrella company as this position falls inside IR35.
