Requirements
Must:
- Mid-level experience as a SQL Database Administrator (DBA)
- Proficient in T-SQL queries, stored procedures, partitioning, indexing, and performance tuning
- Experience with SQL scripting for automation
- Knowledge of backups/recovery, monitoring, security, and SSIS/SSRS for ETL/reporting
- Familiarity with high availability techniques (e.g., Always On, clustering)
- Understanding of disaster recovery and security management
- Experience with data migration processes
- A Degree in IT/computer science or equivalent preferred
- Microsoft certifications (e.g., MCSA/MCITP SQL) preferred
- Proven experience in GDPR/PCI and sector-specific systems
- Excellent communication skills
Responsibilities
- Ensure availability, security, performance, and stability of SQL platforms
- Research and apply security remediation and vulnerability management activities
- Develop awareness of new SQL products and versions relevant to business objectives
- Proactively manage database administration, monitoring, and quality assurance
- Develop in-house tools for database growth prediction and reorganization
- Collaborate with other Technology professionals on projects and workstreams
- Ensure secure delivery in line with best practice and company policy
- Create and maintain technical documentation
- Manage the reliability of the SQL estate, including high availability techniques, backups, and monitoring
