Requirements
Must:
- Experience working in a 2nd Line Desktop Support, IT Field Engineer, or Technical Support role, or a background in Data Cabling, including cable pulling, termination, testing, and installing wireless access points.
- A willingness to transition into a more IT-focused role.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Proactive work approach with a positive and flexible attitude.
- Strong communication skills.
- A team player who is self-motivated, enthusiastic, and eager to learn.
- A full clean driving license is essential.
Responsibilities
- Build desktops and laptops with Windows 11 OS.
- Carry out repairs on desktops, laptops, and printers as required.
- Deliver and install laptops, desktops, printers, access points, and interactive audio-visual equipment in a timely and professional manner.
- Conduct customer equipment handovers, providing basic training on printers and laptops.
- Support interactive audio-visual equipment and WiFi access points.
- Replace printer toner on-site as needed.
- Liaise with customers via phone, remote sessions, video conferencing, or email to provide new equipment, adhering to SLAs, quality standards, and ITIL best practices.
- Provide hardware and software support for all supported assets.
- Carry out regular audits and stock inventory checks, including proper disposal of packaging.
- Maintain a customer-focused approach, delivering exceptional value to our customer base.
- Offer excellent customer service at all times, demonstrating empathy and patience.
- Take accountability and ownership for all assigned tasks.
Description
We are offering an excellent opportunity for a hands-on, customer service-oriented individual to join our successful and organized IT support team as an IT Field Service Engineer. This role is perfect for someone with an IT support background or those with a data cabling background who are interested in developing their IT skills. We are committed to supporting your cross-training into areas such as IT desktop support, networking, printing, and audio-visual technology within a supportive learning environment. You will have access to a company vehicle to assist a range of customers in and around Sussex, making a valid driving license essential. This is a permanent, full-time role with standard hours from Monday to Friday.
