Requirements
Must:
- Proven experience delivering AI or data-led Proofs of Concept (essential).
- Strong track record in agile product delivery—defining MVPs and managing multidisciplinary teams.
- Understanding of conversational or generative AI, including model behavior, orchestration, and evaluation.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and the ability to translate complex ideas into clear, testable outcomes.
- Awareness of user-centered design, accessibility, and ethical AI principles.
- Eligibility to become SC cleared or holder of active SC clearance.
Responsibilities
- Lead the day-to-day delivery of a cross-functional team developing AI-driven prototypes.
- Define product vision, MVPs, scope, and success metrics aligned to program outcomes.
- Shape backlog priorities around testable hypotheses and rapid iteration.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to align on goals, outcomes, and the ethical use of AI.
- Ensure prototypes are usable, testable, explainable, and compliant with the GDS Service Standard and AI Ethics Framework.
- Coordinate user testing with partner organizations and apply insights to product refinement.
Description
We are supporting a central government program that explores the next generation of digital public services using agentic AI. Our focus is on creating AI-driven prototypes that deliver personalized, conversational experiences to help citizens navigate key life events. We are looking for a hands-on Product Manager to help shape, deliver, and test these prototypes in collaboration with designers, researchers, and engineers. You will take ideas from concept to prototype, focusing on what can be learned, tested, and applied at scale across government. In this role, you’ll help shape how AI transforms citizen interaction with government, developing new design patterns, prototypes, and delivery approaches that could define the future of digital public services.
