Requirements
Must:
- Extensive experience managing information/cyber security operations within large, complex, or high-availability environments.
- Strong knowledge of UK government security standards, NCSC guidance, and recognised risk management frameworks.
- Proven experience leading incident response and vulnerability management in multi-supplier ecosystems.
- Strong communication and stakeholder-engagement skills, including experience influencing senior leaders.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage competing priorities effectively.
Responsibilities
- Lead day-to-day security operations, including incident response coordination, vulnerability management, threat monitoring, and operational risk assessments.
- Oversee security deliverables from multiple suppliers and ensure alignment with contractual, technical, and security requirements.
- Collaborate with systems integration partners to design and mature end-to-end Security Operations Centre (SOC) capabilities.
- Chair or contribute to key security governance and operational forums.
- Act as the primary point of contact for operational security matters, engaging with suppliers, stakeholders, and internal security teams.
- Maintain and enhance security operational procedures, runbooks, and reporting mechanisms with SI partners.
- Support the Head of Security Operations in delivering strategic objectives and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Provide expert guidance on security risks, mitigations, and incident handling to programme leadership and delivery teams.
- Lead or support security investigations and coordinate with relevant external bodies where required.
Description
We are seeking an experienced Information & Cyber Security Manager to support a large-scale national technology transformation programme delivering a secure, resilient communications and data platform. The role sits within the programme’s central security function, responsible for assuring the security of a multi-supplier, mission-critical solution used across the UK public sector. This is a hybrid position with 2 days per week on-site in London, and active SC clearance is a prerequisite.
