Must:
We are looking for an experienced AWS Architect with a strong certification background and extensive expertise in API-led integration and distributed systems. You should have a solid understanding of networking and cloud security patterns, and experience in transitioning multi-vendor environments to internal ownership. The ideal candidate can operate both strategically, focusing on architecture and governance, and tactically, engaging in hands-on technical work. Additionally, strong communication and leadership skills within cross-discipline architecture communities are essential.
Responsibilities
In this role, you will lead the architecture, design, and documentation of AWS cloud services and backend API integrations. You will define API specifications, ensure conformance to design patterns, and prepare implementation tickets for development teams. Your role includes architecting secure network boundaries, such as firewalls, WAF, IAM, and environment controls. You will collaborate with Site Reliability, Security, and Platform teams to ensure scalability, resilience, and cost efficiency. Conducting performance analysis and capacity planning across environments will also be part of your duties. Furthermore, you will support hands-on validation through Postman testing, proof-of-concept builds, and deployment oversight. Additionally, youll champion best-practice CI/CD and automation principles with cross-functional teams while engaging in agile ceremonies and contributing to rapid decision-making in a fast-paced delivery environment.
Description
We are a leading international streaming platform focused on consolidating and modernizing the core backend services that drive our global content distribution. As we bring multiple integration layers currently handled by external vendors fully in-house, we aim for stronger ownership, performance optimization, and scalability. This position offers an outside IR35 contract, paying between £600 and £700 per day, with an immediate start date and travel to London once a week or once every two weeks.
