Requirements
Must:
We are looking for individuals with strong expertise in Python for AI/ML development. Ideal candidates will have proven experience in designing and implementing agentic or autonomous AI systems, alongside hands-on exposure to modern AI frameworks and large language models. A background in experimental AI research and prototyping is essential, along with the ability to apply innovation and problem-solving skills in complex, unstructured environments. Familiarity with cloud deployment and optimization on platforms such as Azure, AWS, or GCP, as well as knowledge of open standards and interoperability frameworks, is also required.
Responsibilities
In this role, I will expect you to lead the requirements, design, and implementation of agentic AI systems. You will architect and implement autonomous agents with planning, reasoning, and execution capabilities. Your work will involve designing and prototyping multi-agent systems that can coordinate and collaborate effectively, as well as developing agent memory systems and knowledge management approaches. You will be responsible for building robust error handling and recovery mechanisms for agentic systems, and implementing human-AI interaction patterns to ensure oversight, assurance, and transparency. Additionally, you will optimize AI model performance for cloud-based environments and evaluate and select appropriate AI technologies for experimental use cases.
Description
This position is a 6-month initial contract with the possibility of extensions, and it is outside of IR35. We offer a hybrid working model based in London, providing flexibility in your work environment while contributing to a high-profile programme of work for a government department focused on advanced agentic AI systems.
