Requirements
Must:
- Significant experience in business analysis, including requirements gathering, workshop facilitation, process design, and documentation.
- Strong understanding of the full software development lifecycle (SDLC).
- Ability to understand complex business needs and translate them into clear requirements.
- Experience managing stakeholders and presenting information clearly.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with an ability to simplify complex information.
- A proactive, self-motivated approach and an interest in learning within a fast-paced environment.
- Experience working with both agile and waterfall delivery methods.
- Appreciation of the importance of governance, control, and oversight in delivering major change.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues across different teams and specialisms.
- Desirable: Experience working in the utility or energy sector.
- Desirable: Knowledge of information systems used in the electricity or wider energy industry.
Responsibilities
- Lead business analysis activities across a wide range of business areas, supporting IT transformation and the development of future SONI systems.
- Gather, analyze, and document business requirements by engaging with stakeholders and subject matter experts.
- Translate complex business needs into clear, structured specifications for design and delivery teams.
- Prepare and lead requirements workshops and sessions, ensuring both technical and non-technical colleagues are fully engaged.
- Contribute to business cases, proposals, and solution options.
- Work with third-party suppliers and partners to define and deliver solutions aligned with SONIs strategy.
- Identify risks, gaps, and issues early and communicate them clearly.
- Support requirements prioritization and help stakeholders make informed decisions.
- Create high-quality documentation, including requirements documents, process maps, data flows, and business specifications.
- Develop requirements through to formal signoff, following SONIs governance processes.
- Play an active role in solution design, ensuring cross-system impacts are considered.
- Work with the business to define functional requirements that support system design.
- Support change impact assessments, training strategies, and implementation activities.
- Manage change requests throughout the lifecycle of new developments and system changes.
- Bring forward new ideas and draw on external best practices to help improve ways of working.
