Must:
We are looking for someone with a minimum of 5 years of experience in embedded firmware or embedded Linux development. You should have a deep understanding of Debian/Linux system architecture and optimization. Advanced proficiency in both C++ and Python is essential. You will need proven experience with Mender for OTA management and recovery workflows, as well as a strong knowledge of device-side encryption, secure boot, and key handling mechanisms. Hands-on experience with Bluetooth and Wi-Fi communication stacks is also required, along with experience in integrating with Azure Cloud (IoT Hub, Device Provisioning, or Edge). Proficiency in Git, build automation, and CI/CD practices is a must, as is experience in developing manufacturing scripts for automated flashing and validation. Familiarity with Qt/XML for embedded UI or configuration would be beneficial. Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset are essential for this role, enabling you to work fluidly across teams.
Responsibilities
In this role, you will lead firmware development for Debian-based embedded Linux systems, from architecture to deployment. You will design and maintain secure OTA pipelines using Mender, including rollback, recovery, and encryption at the device level. You will implement and manage device-side encryption, secure boot, and partition-level protection utilizing recovery tools. Additionally, you will develop manufacturing scripts to automate programming, validation, and hardware testing processes. You will also be responsible for optimizing Linux performance in terms of boot time, memory footprint, and system reliability. Building and maintaining connectivity stacks (Bluetooth, Wi-Fi) will ensure robust and seamless user experiences. You will integrate with Azure IoT/Cloud for data, provisioning, and remote management. Using Python, you will build automation tools, testing frameworks, and cloud deployment utilities. You will drive Git-based workflows, continuous integration, and release pipelines. Communicating effectively with stakeholders will be key, as you align firmware deliverables with product, software, and manufacturing priorities. Moreover, you are expected to demonstrate initiative by proactively identifying bottlenecks, proposing solutions, and delivering improvements. Lastly, you will leverage AI-assisted development tools (Codex, Cursor, Copilot) to enhance productivity and maintain cutting-edge practices.
