Requirements
Must:
- 5+ years in network and security operations
- 3-5 years in a managerial or leadership role
- Demonstrated ability to motivate and manage teams under pressure
- Proven experience with combined NOC and SOC environments
- Broad expertise in network infrastructure (routing, switching, firewalls, VPNs, load balancers, cloud networks)
- Deep understanding of security monitoring and incident response tools (SIEM, etc.)
- MSP experience is highly desirable
Responsibilities
- Lead, recruit, and develop NOC & SOC teams, including analysts, engineers, and managers
- Motivate teams and drive performance during high-pressure situations
- Oversee continuous monitoring to ensure network performance and issue resolution
- Develop and lead SOC incident response playbooks and manage critical escalations
- Handle crisis situations effectively
- Set operational goals and align NOC & SOC strategies with IT and business objectives
- Plan budgets and procure vendors for cost-efficiency
- Produce and present performance metrics to senior leadership
- Implement and optimize monitoring, detection, and investigative tools (SIEM, etc.)
Description
We are seeking a Head of SOC/NOC to ensure our network infrastructure is reliable and secure, incidents are swiftly handled, and our team operates efficiently. This position offers a hybrid working model, requiring 2-3 days in the office based in Bolton.
