Requirements
Must:
We are seeking an Engineering Manager who possesses a strong background in Java development and microservices architecture. You should have proven experience in team leadership, ideally managing teams of five or more people. A passion for fostering diversity in tech, particularly in supporting underrepresented groups, is essential. We value a servant leadership approach, enabling you to inspire and motivate our highly skilled team. Familiarity with the local tech ecosystem, including initiatives like women in tech and tech meetups, is highly regarded. Additionally, we expect a comprehensive skill set that includes microservice architecture, exposure to frameworks such as Spring and Hibernate, RDBMS experience with NoSQL (like MongoDB), Git version control, and awareness of cloud technologies.
Responsibilities
As our Engineering Manager, you will lead a dedicated team focused on developing bespoke, modular applications within a cloud-hosted microservices architecture. Your leadership will be crucial in delivering robust and highly scalable solutions that serve millions of users daily. You will be at the forefront of AI-driven financial technology, responsible for ensuring that our projects align with both technical and community engagement goals. We believe in long-term employee well-being and development, so you will play a key role in defining clear progression paths and supporting our hybrid working model.
Description
We are proud to offer a starting salary of up to £100,000 along with a bonus structure, company ownership shares, and an electric company car scheme. Our commitment to hybrid working allows for two days a week on-site, complemented by flexible working hours. You can anticipate four promotion and salary review opportunities each year, alongside access to our best-in-class physical and mental well-being programs. Other benefits include a private pension scheme, a training and personal development budget, well-being protection (including death in service, critical illness cover, and income protection), extensive career progression opportunities, 25 days of holiday plus bank holidays (with a holiday buy and sell scheme), a choice of technology, and options like a season ticket loan or cycle to work scheme. If you are an Engineering Manager who is passionate about helping others reach their full potential while being involved in the development of innovative greenfield applications, we encourage you to apply now for consideration.
