Must:
We are looking for a Network Field Service Engineer with essential knowledge of Juniper switching and wireless. You should have a solid understanding of best practices in LAN cabling, and be a self-starter capable of working independently. Strong communication skills are crucial, as you will need to explain technical issues clearly to various audiences. Being a team player, flexible, resilient, and professional is important, as well as having customer-facing IT support experience in a fast-paced environment. Evidence of working effectively in a team is also required.
Desirable attributes include hands-on experience with Juniper, knowledge of network security, and experience in network cabling installation and site surveying.
Responsibilities
As a Network Field Service Engineer, you will be part of our on-site team, ensuring that contractual SLAs are met. Your main responsibilities will include:
- Physically installing switches and network equipment.
- Configuring the switching infrastructure and Juniper Wireless Access Points.
- Troubleshooting and resolving wired network issues with support from the wider team.
- Maintaining network availability through routine documentation and maintenance practices.
- Replacing faulty hardware components like switches, access points, and peripherals when needed.
- Providing professional updates to customers on incidents, problems, and changes via phone and email.
- Maintaining ITSM systems with high-quality work notes.
- Participating in an on-call rota to provide onsite support for P1 and P2 incidents, including hardware replacement where necessary.
- Engaging with third-party vendors to progress support calls and seek technical advice.
- Ensuring excellent standards of customer care at all times.
