Requirements

Must:
- Demonstrated hands-on experience with Java for backend development, including designing RESTful APIs that support secure and high-performance architectures. - Familiarity with backend frameworks such as Spring Boot or Node.js is considered beneficial for this position. - Experience using CI/CD tools like GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or Harness to automate build and deployment processes efficiently. - Proficiency with Docker for containerisation and Kubernetes for orchestration within cloud environments. - Exposure to cloud platforms-Google Cloud Platform preferred; AWS or Azure experience also valued. - Experience with automated testing tools such as Jest, Cypress, or Pact to ensure code reliability through comprehensive test coverage. - Commitment to writing maintainable code that adheres to best practices in software engineering. - Ability to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams by communicating clearly and sharing knowledge openly. - Adaptability when faced with new challenges or evolving project requirements within a supportive environment. - Dedication to inclusive practices that foster diversity, equity, and accessibility throughout the recruitment process.

Responsibilities

- Design and develop robust frontend and backend services using Java to deliver secure and scalable applications. - Test and deploy containerised applications leveraging Docker and Kubernetes for efficient orchestration. - Apply Domain-Driven Design (DDD) and Test-Driven Development (TDD) principles to ensure high-quality software delivery. - Collaborate closely with Product Owners, Architects, and Quality Engineers to create seamless user experiences. - Integrate internal systems with third-party APIs to enhance functionality and reliability across platforms. - Contribute actively to architectural decisions that shape the engineering strategy of the organisation. - Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to foster knowledge sharing within the team. - Utilise CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions or Jenkins to streamline deployment processes and maintain code quality. - Engage in continuous learning by staying updated on emerging technologies relevant to backend development. - Support efforts towards automation by implementing reliable testing frameworks like Jest or Cypress.
