Requirements
Must:
We are seeking candidates with a strong knowledge of industry frameworks such as NIST CSF, ISO/IEC 27001, and CIS Benchmarks, along with core security principles like Zero Trust, Least Privilege, and Network Segmentation. You should have proven experience with Azure/GCP security, CSPM, CWPP, and Policy as Code, particularly with Azure Policy and OPA. A proficiency in scripting or programming languages such as Python, C#, or PowerShell for automation is essential. Familiarity with architectural patterns like Multi-Tier, Microservices, and Event-Driven, as well as frameworks like TOGAF or SABSA, will be beneficial. Experience in securing IaC pipelines, CI/CD integrations, and applying DevSecOps practices is also required. Additionally, awareness of emerging technologies, including AI/ML and Quantum Computing, and their security implications will be considered a strong advantage. Candidates must hold the right to work in Ireland and be open to working onsite in Dublin, following a hybrid working model.

Responsibilities
In this role, you will conduct security design reviews and assess architectures against established policies and standards, providing recommendations for mitigations. You’ll maintain and evolve a unified Security Reference Architecture and reusable design patterns. You will design and enhance security controls to address gaps, emerging threats, and compliance requirements. As a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Azure/GCP security, you’ll design cloud-compatible controls, templates, and "as code" modules. Collaboration with engineering teams will be key, as you embed security into CI/CD, IaC, and DevSecOps pipelines. You’ll also lead threat modeling exercises and provide training to non-security stakeholders on its application.

Join us at Sumitomo Mitsui Finance Dublin Limited (SMFD) as a Cloud Security Automation Specialist (VP) and play a pivotal role in shaping and safeguarding our hybrid IT landscape across on-prem, Azure, GCP, and cloud-native platforms. This position is based in Dublin, and we offer a relocation allowance equivalent to an additional month's salary for candidates willing to relocate for this opportunity. At SMFD, which is a wholly owned subsidiary of SMBC, we are rapidly growing as a Centre of Excellence for the bank's universal banking business across EMEA. We provide a range of technology and operational support services that align with SMBC's growth, innovation, and transformation strategies.
