Requirements
Must:
- Proven experience as a hands-on SAP Basis Developer / Engineer / Technical Consultant
- Strong background delivering carve-outs, divestitures, spin-offs, or M&A-driven system separations
- Deep understanding of SAP environments including landscapes, database layers, integrations, and cross-module dependencies
- Experience performing SAP system migrations, environment builds, system copies, and Basis-level configuration
- Strong backend technical experience including data migration, code extraction, and SAP environment separation activities
- Understanding of related systems such as Order Management, Data Warehouse / BI platforms, and connected enterprise applications
- Familiarity with document management solutions (e.g., OpenText) and warehouse mobility/handheld solutions (e.g., Zetes or similar) is beneficial
- Ability to analyse in-flight work, identify gaps, stabilise delivery, and ensure robust technical governance
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to work across technical teams, business stakeholders, and third-party partners
- Comfortable working in fast-paced, high-visibility environments with demanding timelines
Responsibilities
- Take ownership of the SAP Basis and backend technical workstream within a complex business carve-out.
- Deliver hands-on SAP system activities including database upgrades, Basis administration, environment preparation, and system separations.
- Perform technical separation tasks: data extraction, codebase splitting, export/import activities, user and role segregation, and environment cloning.
- Support the full separation of SAP and connected enterprise systems, ensuring clean handover to the new standalone business.
- Review existing SAP landscapes, integrations, dependencies, and infrastructure components to identify technical risks and critical gaps.
- Work closely with Architecture, Infrastructure, Data and Application teams to coordinate migration, cutover, and post-separation readiness.
- Ensure all upstream/downstream interfaces are identified, updated, and validated as part of the separation process.
- Troubleshoot system performance issues, resolve Basis-level defects, and stabilise environments during migration waves.
- Operate effectively under accelerated timelines, with the carve-out completion deadline set for 1st July.
- Provide clear technical recommendations, progress updates, and risk escalations to senior stakeholders and project leads.

This role will be UK Remote with occasional travel to Madrid, and we offer a competitive contract rate with potential for extension.
