Requirements
Must:
- Strong commercial Scala development experience
- Good understanding of functional programming principles
- Experience with AWS infrastructure
- Familiarity with CI/CD processes
- Knowledge of Terraform and databases
- Experience with APIs and production support
- Must have full right to work and live in the UK
- Comfortable working autonomously in a small, high-trust engineering environment
Responsibilities
- Backend development using Scala and functional programming approaches
- Work across APIs, microservices, data flows, integrations, and distributed systems
- Improve backend architecture, scalability, resilience, observability, and maintainability
- Collaborate with product, frontend, underwriting, claims, operations, and broker success teams
