Responsibilities
- Lead the design of scalable and resilient systems, particularly for complex cross-team initiatives.
- Shape the architectural direction of the consumer domain, especially in search, aligning with strategic goals.
- Identify opportunities for increased reuse and improved performance.
- Collaborate with Engineering Managers and Product Managers on scoping, sequencing, and risk mitigation for major initiatives.
- Unblock teams by identifying better ways to progress and simplifying complexity.
- Influence outcomes by understanding business and user value and leveraging strong product awareness.
- Champion engineering quality, including best practices in code structure and operational readiness.
- Diagnose patterns and inefficiencies in software development and promote better collaborative practices.
- Help drive discussions on platform services and the long-term sustainability of our technology estate.
- Mentor and provide thought partnership to senior engineers and tech leads.
- Encourage excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership behaviors across teams.
- Contribute to the growth of the internal technical community through knowledge sharing and cross-domain learning.
