Requirements
Must:
- Strong experience in WordPress, including custom development.
- Skilled in PHP, JavaScript, CSS/HTML, and API integrations.
- Comfortable working with modern front-end tools (React experience advantageous).
- Confident acting as a sole developer and all-round IT expert for the business.
- Able to take ownership in transitioning processes from outsourced teams to internal capability.
- A proactive problem-solver with great communication skills.
Responsibilities
- Own and improve a WordPress + WooCommerce website used internationally to showcase specialist equipment.
- Develop custom themes, templates, product layouts, and taxonomies suited to complex B2B listings.
- Enhance front-end experience using JavaScript, React, jQuery, and modern UI approaches.
- Optimise site speed, SEO, and security.
- Manage analytics, tracking and reporting tools (Google Analytics / Tag Manager).
- Bring previously outsourced web development processes in-house, improving consistency and responsiveness.
- Act as the companys main IT contact, supporting day-to-day operations across departments.
- Troubleshoot issues across devices, accounts, networks, and software systems.
- Work alongside external partners only when required for hosting, security or infrastructure improvements.
- Support internal teams with onboarding, technology setup, and system updates.
