Requirements
Must:
- Proven experience as a Network Engineer / Network Architect in contract roles
- Strong hands-on expertise with Fortigate / FortiGate firewalls
- Experience with FortiManager and authentication
- Solid understanding of VPN design and migration
- Comfortable working in environments away from Cisco technologies
- Strong design, planning, and documentation skills
- Ability to work independently and take ownership
- Azure networking experience (VNets, gateways, hybrid connectivity) - Desirable
- Experience supporting cloud-first or cloud-only environments - Desirable
- Relevant networking or security certifications (Fortinet or equivalent) - Desirable
Responsibilities
- Design and deliver a new network architecture to support Azure migration
- Lead the shutdown of an existing on-prem data centre (no hardware refresh)
- Design and implement VPN changes and LPN migration
- Act as the network design authority where a third-party partner was initially expected
- Support internal teams, including Customer Experience and Salesforce platforms
- Ensure secure, scalable, and well-documented network solutions
Description
We are a technology-focused organization seeking an experienced Network Engineer for a 3-6 months contract role remotely. This position is crucial for supporting a major cloud migration program to Microsoft Azure, where you will be responsible for network design, VPN migration, and firewall implementation. We offer competitive pay rates between £450-550 per day (Outside IR35) and provide a fast-moving environment that fosters genuine responsibility and impact.
