Must:
We are looking for a talented Test Engineer with strong experience in testing hardware and software products. You should have a solid academic background, ideally achieving a 2.1 or 1st class degree and at least AAB at A Level (or international equivalent). You need to be comfortable working with both hardware and software systems, especially with embedded or IoT-based products. Additionally, you should possess practical skills to build or modify simple test setups using microcontrollers, sensors, or similar platforms. Proficiency in scripting or automation, preferably in Python (though other languages such as Bash or Go are also welcome), is essential. An analytical and curious approach to investigating systems, strong communication and collaboration skills, and an interest in modern technology stacks and emerging product architectures will be key to your success. Ideally, you will also have exposure to networking, sensors, or multimedia systems such as audio or video streaming.
Responsibilities
In this role, you will plan and execute comprehensive system-level testing across various conditions including connectivity, performance, and environmental factors. You will proactively identify faults and bottlenecks to enhance reliability, robustness, and scalability. Designing and maintaining hardware test environments while integrating automation to streamline testing and data capture will be part of your responsibilities. You will create lightweight scripts or tools to coordinate, analyze, and visualize testing outcomes, as well as replicate realistic usage conditions—such as changes in temperature, motion, or signal quality—to evaluate system performance. Collaboration with hardware, firmware, and software engineers will be crucial to validate complete system functionality. You will also play a pivotal role in evolving testing frameworks and ensuring reliability is embedded in designs from the outset.
