Noon Layer Drive, Milton Keynes

Requirements
Must:
As a Technical Services Analyst, I seek candidates who possess strong technical proficiency with database systems such as SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, or Oracle. An understanding of client and server environments, including backup and restore processes, database cloning, and data integrity verification is crucial. I value knowledge of server infrastructure and virtualization technologies like VMware or Hyper-V, as well as cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure.
Candidates should be confident in using remote access tools, including Windows RDP, and must be able to review and interpret Microsoft Windows Server environments, with an understanding of performance considerations. Exposure to Azure would be beneficial. A methodical approach to planning migrations or upgrades, alongside strong documentation habits—including runbooks, checklists, and configuration notes—are essential.
The ideal candidate will maintain structured processes that support clear communication with customers and help meet SLAs, with the ability to identify risks early and propose effective mitigation strategies. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, including data validation, testing, and post-migration verification, are required. A calm, professional approach during incidents or technical challenges, as well as strong communication skills, are important for building confidence with our customers.
Responsibilities
In this role, I will expect you to enable customers to access the latest software releases by planning and delivering upgrades. You will create detailed migration plans, including pre-flight and post-migration validation steps. It will be your responsibility to review system configurations, dependencies, and environments to ensure compatibility, as well as perform data verification, functional testing, and performance checks during and after migrations.
I encourage you to document processes, lessons learned, and improvements for future runbooks. Collaboration is key; you will work across teams to ensure the successful and timely delivery of updates while maintaining clear communication with customers throughout the upgrade lifecycle. Identifying technical risks and implementing effective strategies to reduce their impact is vital, as is contributing to the ongoing refinement of internal processes as our business continues to scale.
Description
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a growing, passionate team working with widely used enterprise software in the higher education and events sector. Your contribution will make a tangible impact on customer success and operational efficiency, all within a supportive environment that encourages professional growth. If you're interested in applying for this Technical Services Analyst role, please submit your CV through the relevant channels.
