Requirements
Must:
- Proven experience leading engineering teams through legacy modernisation
- Strong technical credibility across both modern and legacy software platforms
- Experience owning and delivering technology strategy within a B2B or enterprise software environment
- Commercial understanding of technical debt, platform risk and long-term sustainability
- Ability to operate at board level and influence senior stakeholders
- Experience building, mentoring and retaining senior engineering leaders
- Confident balancing customer needs, operational stability and future roadmap
- Experience in regulated, institutional or mission-critical software environments is beneficial
- Exposure to cloud-native or serverless architectures would be advantageous
Responsibilities
- Define and deliver the overall technology strategy and technical roadmap
- Ensure strong alignment between product direction and engineering execution
- Lead and develop a large engineering and product organisation
- Improve platform stability, quality and operational resilience
- Make evidence-based decisions around architecture and modernisation
- Establish clear technical governance, ownership and accountability
- Work closely with the CEO and executive team on wider company strategy
- Act as the senior technology representative with customers and at board level
