Requirements
Must:
We are seeking a candidate with a strong break-fix background and hands-on repair experience. You should be confident in replacing laptop and desktop components and have proven deskside support experience in a live business environment. A good understanding of Windows 10, Mac OS, and Office 365 is essential, along with familiarity with networking basics. Excellent communication and customer service skills are crucial. You should also be able to lift and move IT equipment up to 20kg and be eligible to work full time in the UK.
Pre-start requirements include a background check, a drug test, and account setup prior to starting.
Responsibilities
In this role, you will provide break-fix support for laptops, desktops, monitors, printers, and peripherals. Your tasks will include diagnosing and resolving hardware faults, such as issues with drives, memory, boards, and power. You will handle walk-up requests and complete same-day break-fix repairs, along with the installation and configuration of new devices and peripherals. Your duties will also involve IMACD activities, troubleshooting Windows 10, Mac OS, and Office 365 issues, providing Smart Hands support for basic network and infrastructure tasks, and assisting with meeting room and live event support when required. Additionally, you’ll manage local stock, spares, and maintain accurate asset records, while providing early-life support for new deployments.
Description
This full-time, onsite position focuses on break-fix tasks, hardware diagnostics, and daily user support within a busy manufacturing environment. We expect a daily workload of around 5 to 8 tickets. This role is set to run until May 2028 and is an excellent opportunity for an engineer who enjoys hands-on repair work in a dynamic setting.
