Requirements
Must:
- UK work authorisation and strong English communication skills
- 3–5 years of commercial front-end development experience
- Strong technical capability across HTML, CSS3, and JavaScript
- Experience with relational databases such as MySQL or PostgreSQL
- Confidence using Git for version control
- Experience with Bootstrap, Ajax, and jQuery
- Solid understanding of writing optimised, maintainable code
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to optimise code and troubleshoot effectively
- Clear communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team
Desirable Skills:
- Experience with Moodle
- Familiarity with Docker, cloud platforms, CI/CD pipelines, and Linux environments
- Knowledge of authentication protocols, WordPress, or other programming languages
- Exposure to AI-assisted coding tools or project management practices
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with designers to translate front-end specifications into high-quality web pages
- Build modern, responsive interfaces to enhance user experience
- Write clean, reusable code across both front-end and PHP components
- Contribute to code reviews and support other developers
- Take ownership of software quality, ensuring adherence to best practices in development, testing, and performance optimisation
- Troubleshoot issues and optimise applications for performance, scalability, and reliability
- Ensure systems meet accessibility standards, GDPR requirements, and data protection best practices
- Support QA processes and maintain data integrity
- Work as part of a cross-functional team throughout the agile development lifecycle
- Engage with stakeholders, providing technical guidance and translating requirements into effective solutions
- Stay up to date with modern front-end technologies and proactively suggest improvements
- Contribute to the evolution of AI-assisted development within the team
