Requirements

Must:
- We need strong experience with Azure cloud environments. - We need hands-on experience with Kubernetes and AKS. - We need solid experience with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code. - We need experience with Golang. - We need experience with CI/CD tooling and automation. - We need experience with observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, or LGTM stacks. - We need a strong understanding of platform reliability, scalability, and security best practices. - We value experience in platform engineering, DevOps, SRE, or cloud infrastructure environments. - We are looking for someone who has led technical initiatives and can mentor other engineers. - We are looking for someone who enjoys ownership and can influence engineering standards. - Experience with Crossplane is beneficial. - Interest in AI tooling and modern engineering practices is highly valued.

Responsibilities

- We want you to design and improve Azure infrastructure. - We want you to evolve and support Kubernetes platforms within AKS. - We want you to build reusable Infrastructure as Code patterns using Terraform and Crossplane. - We want you to improve reliability, observability, and security across our platform estate. - We want you to enhance developer tooling and CI/CD processes. - We want you to help engineering teams deploy faster and more safely. - We want you to reduce friction in day-to-day engineering workflows. - We want you to lead large technical initiatives and help shape technical direction. - We want you to mentor other engineers and support engineering best practices. - We want you to help introduce AI-assisted tooling and automation into our platform function. - We want you to improve operational visibility and developer experience through modern tooling.

Description


We are a technology business investing heavily in AI across our engineering and platform function. We are building a modern engineering environment where AI-assisted tooling, automation, operational intelligence, and developer experience improvements are actively being introduced to help teams work more effectively. This is a senior, hands-on platform engineering role based in Manchester city centre, with a hybrid working model of around two days per week in the office, though we are open to greater flexibility if needed. The salary is £80,000 to £90,000 plus benefits, including enhanced annual leave, personal training budgets, enhanced pension contributions, hybrid working, company-paid sick leave, enhanced family policies, and extra flexibility around holidays and working arrangements. Our platform function is growing, and this role offers a clear path towards future Staff or Principal-level opportunities over time.
