Requirements
Must:
- 5+ years experience in PLC software design within industrial or automation environments
- Experience with Codesys and real-time system debugging
- Ability to design complex control architectures involving multiple PLCs, sensors, and actuators
- HND (or equivalent) in Electronic/Electrical Engineering or related discipline
- Proven experience in automation system design
Responsibilities
- Lead the full PLC software development lifecycle, including designing, programming, integrating, and optimising automation systems for specialist aviation ground support vehicles
- Work closely with electrical and mechanical teams to deliver reliable, high-performance control systems
- Mentor engineers and drive technical excellence within the team
- Design, program, and configure PLC systems in line with IEC 61131-3 standards
- Integrate PLCs with wider control systems including HMI interfaces and telematics
- Debug, test, and optimise control logic to enhance system performance and reliability
- Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 quality standards and maintain safety interlocks and backups
