Data Scientist & Machine Learning Researcher

- We require a BSc in Machine Learning, Data Science, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field. - We need experience coding in Python and relevant ML packages such as HuggingFace, TensorFlow, and PyTorch. - We require experience delivering ML solutions to stakeholders. - We need a strong understanding of AI/ML algorithms for different data types and tasks, including Generative AI, NLP, and computer vision. - We require the ability to carry out research and development beyond existing literature with support and technical direction from senior colleagues. - We need experience training and developing AI models, including Large Language Models. - We require the ability to produce high-quality scientific or academic-style writing for internal and external publication. - We need strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work with a high level of autonomy. - We require a proactive, self-starting approach to finding solutions. - Desirable: a PhD or Masters degree with academic research experience. - Desirable: experience using robust ML pipelines, version control, and environment management tools such as venvs or Docker. - Desirable: working knowledge of Linux systems and basic command-line functionality such as AWS CLI, Docker CLI, ssh, ls, and cd. - Desirable: experience working in cloud environments, especially AWS, or equivalents such as GCP or Azure. - Desirable: research publications in peer-reviewed journals. - Desirable: familiarity with agile processes for project delivery. - Desirable: experience delivering AI/ML projects in defence or government.
