Requirements
Must:
- Extensive experience with database backup and recovery, specifically using EMC Networker
- Strong skills in Oracle DBA and experience with MySQL
- Experience in a Linux environment is preferred; strong Microsoft background will also be considered
- Proven ability to own, troubleshoot, and resolve complex technical faults within the infrastructure
- Programming skills, particularly Python, for automation and integration are highly desirable
- Manage Incidents, Service Requests, and Changes against strict SLAs/KPIs
- Actively apply Continuous Improvement (CI) methodology to drive efficiency
- Collaborate effectively across matrix teams and possess strong stakeholder management skills
- Demonstrate a willingness to learn and adopt new database technologies
Responsibilities
- Focus on database backup and recovery tasks to ensure integrity and recoverability of critical systems
- Implement and manage Oracle DB and MySQL systems within our Enterprise Cloud Infrastructure
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical faults in the infrastructure
- Develop automation tools and scripts for improved operational efficiency
- Manage incidents, service requests, and changes in line with SLAs/KPIs
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth operations
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the database environment
Description
We are Randstad Technologies, currently seeking an experienced Oracle DBA for a 6-month contract in Sheffield, UK, with potential for extension. Our team values service excellence, continuous improvement, and collaboration, and we offer a competitive pay rate of circa £300 - £365 per day inside IR35.
