Requirements
Must:
- 12+ years in IT, with at least 5+ years specifically focused on Azure Infrastructure (IaaS/PaaS, Networking, Storage)
- Proven track record using Azure Migrate, driving complex solutioning for banking, healthcare, or insurance domains
- Advanced knowledge of Linux systems (OS restoration, daemon management, Postfix/SendMail, and file-based storage like NFS/SMB)
- Deep understanding of Azure Networking, SIAM, and data security
- Expert-level ability to perform root-cause analysis on processor, memory, IO, and cluster-related issues
- Familiarity with Configuration Management tools like Ansible or Chef (desirable)
- Experience with Git, Jenkins, and scripting in Python, Bash, or Ruby (desirable)
- Hands-on experience with TLS termination and web traffic optimization (desirable)
Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end On-prem/Public Cloud assessments using Azure Migrate and design robust Azure Landing Zones
- Develop High-Level (HLD) and Low-Level Design (LLD) documents, including comprehensive target architecture diagrams and Bill of Materials (BoM)
- Drive large-scale migrations of Linux-based workloads to Azure, ensuring alignment with TCO (Total Cost of Ownership) and ROI goals
- Act as the Subject Matter Expert for Linux environments, managing kernel tuning, logical volumes, shell scripting, and advanced networking
- Oversee Azure IAM, Key Vault, and general security protocols within a UNIX environment for compliant and hardened architectures
- Implement and tune high-performance web stacks using Apache, Varnish for caching, and HAProxy for load balancing
- Manage and technically govern a team of 5+ infrastructure engineers, providing guidance on root-cause analysis and complex troubleshooting
Description
We are seeking a high-caliber Azure Architect to lead complex infrastructure transformations in our London, UK office on a hybrid work model of 2 days in the office per week. This is a 6-month contract with the possibility of extension. In this role, you will not just design solutions; you will govern the technical strategy, mentor a dedicated team of engineers, and bridge the gap between deep technical Linux administration and high-level Azure cloud architecture. Active SC Clearance is required for this position.
