Requirements
Must:
- Proven experience with VMware Horizon technology
- Strong knowledge of VMware ESXi and vCenter components
- Experience with Windows 11 and Microsoft Office installation and configuration
- Familiarity with CIS Level 2 hardening standards
- Ability to document procedures and configurations clearly
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
Responsibilities
- Review the current VMware Horizon Infrastructure, including ESXi hosts and vCenter Server
- Plan, test, and execute the upgrade to the latest Omnissa Horizon, ensuring compatibility and minimal downtime
- Upgrade VMware ESXi and vCenter components as required to support the new Horizon version
- Update VDI clients to Windows 11 and install the latest version of Microsoft Office
- Ensure DEM is correctly configured and functioning
- Implement CIS Level 2 hardening for VMware Horizon, Windows 11 VDIs, and Microsoft Office in an offline environment
- Document all procedures, configurations, and changes made during the upgrade process
Description
We are seeking a VMware Horizon Specialist to join our team in Ipswich at the Orion Building for a 6-month contract. This role will involve assessing and upgrading our VMware Horizon environment in a secure, offline setting. We offer a collaborative work environment and opportunities for skill enhancement as you work on critical projects that impact our infrastructure.
