Requirements
Must:
- 7 years experience in Data Architecture, with at least 3 years in the UK Government
- Advanced skills in SQL Server/Azure SQL (T-SQL, performance tuning, indexing)
- Experience in database security (TDE, audit logging)
- Knowledge of interoperability standards and clinical safety (DCB0129/0160)
- Proven experience with OutSystems delivery
- Proficiency in REST/OData API design for secure healthcare data
- Strong privacy-first mindset
- Excellent communication skills for explaining complex data concepts to non-technical stakeholders
- Ability to design resilient integrations with legacy systems
Responsibilities
- Lead data design and governance for a high-profile application
- Evolve early data models into a secure, scalable, and interoperable production-ready foundation
- Ensure compliance with GDS Service Standards
- Develop highly normalized, scalable data models ensuring performance and integrity
- Implement secure-by-design practices including RLS, data masking, and encryption
- Architect FHIR-based integrations via REST/OData
- Lead GDS data architecture initiatives, focusing on data minimization, retention, and ethics
- Define data contracts and govern third-party integrations
