Requirements
Must:
- Valid UK drivers license with a clean driving record
- Relevant certifications or vocational training in mechanical engineering or a related field (advantageous)
- Hydraulic or mechanical qualification preferred but not essential
- 3 years of experience in mechanical engineering preferred, but not essential
- 3 years of experience in hydraulics preferred, but not essential
- Previous experience in a similar role, preferably in mobile repair or field service technician positions
- Exceptional knowledge of the UK fluid power industry
- Strong connections across the UK manufacturing industry
- IOSHH Managing Safely (or equivalent) certification
Responsibilities
- Conduct on-site inspections of hydraulic hoses and systems to identify issues and recommend solutions
- Perform on-the-spot repairs or replacements of damaged or malfunctioning hoses
- Conduct routine maintenance checks and repairs on machinery, ensuring optimal performance and longevity
- Troubleshoot mechanical issues and implement effective solutions promptly to minimise downtime
- Collaborate with maintenance teams to provide technical expertise and support
- Maintain accurate records of hose inspections, repairs, and replacements
- Ensure safety documentation and risk assessments are submitted accurately and efficiently
- Report all near misses and potential hazards
- Adhere to safety protocols and comply with industry standards and regulations while working on-site
- Provide professional onsite hose replacement and hydraulic service
- Actively promote our services and products
- Maintain health and safety practices, including mandatory use of Personal Protective Equipment
- Manage a mobile service vehicle, including stock takes and routine maintenance
- Manage inventory levels of spare parts and consumables
- Attend training courses as requested by management
- Provide excellent customer service during site visits and breakdown jobs
- Address customer inquiries or concerns in a timely and respectful manner
- Recommend and implement upgrades or modifications to enhance equipment performance
- Provide training and technical support to clients on the proper use and maintenance of equipment
- Perform routine vehicle inspections and maintenance checks
- Safely operate company vehicles in compliance with traffic laws and regulations
- Efficiently plan routes to minimise delays
- Handle goods with care during loading, transport, and unloading
- Comply with company policies and local regulations governing commercial transportation
- Adhere to vehicle weight limits and maintenance requirements
- Ensure safe use and maintenance of all equipment during operations
